The department of Lot in Quercy

The department bears traces of occupationles remains of the Cave of Wonders of Hospitalet. The architecture has many Roman ruins. You can visit the Romanesque church of Rampoux or that of Carennac or that of Horndean. Those who like prefer the Gothic church of Vigan. But you'll also fortified medieval churches as Castelfranc. The department has Lot, surprisingly, many castles. Some are perfectly preserved like Castelnau or allow only a few traces as Fredericksburg. The typical architecture of small villages in the Lot is distinguished by its high houses, its staircases on the outside and "bolet" covered gallery room used outdoors. Almost all the houses have a dovecote which may be overlooking bolet. The culture enthusiasts can visit the many museums department. Some are normal like Martel: archaeological and historical museum or that of Amédée-Lemozi to Pech-Merle. Other exhibiting art works such as Henri Giron to Prades or the Rignault in St. Cirq Lapopie. Still others distrairont you like Cardaillac: the Museum broke or birds near deBonaguil ... The department of Lot promises more family activities to spend time with your children. You go with them such theme park in Gluges of "Labyrinthus" or even to show "the enchantment around the Rail" de l'Hospitalet and the great medieval festival of Gourdon. Children are also captivated by the beautiful rooms of the cave Padirac or the circuit Rocamadour small train and the small tourist train of the High Quercy who share Martel. Many festivals take place during the summer in the Lot department such as the mime festival PLC Souillac or that of beer Martel or the festival of theater Figeac You can practice different sports in the Lot, outside the traditional excursions, such as canoeing Lot on and you can make the balloon flight above Rocamadour or cruises discovery from Cahors ... You will also discover that the Lot is a country where you love good food. By accompanying your meal wines of Cahors and Coteaux du Quercy, carefully selected, you will taste the carpaccio of foie gras or the guts to finish and you cadurcienne by Rocamadour cheese and walnut ice cream. You also pleased by eating the mamonia: This lamb stew with honey and saffron and you try at least once to attend a truffle called "black diamonds". Welcome to the Lot!
